About Me

Life's Little Adventures Farm is located in Wayne County, Ohio, about 5 miles north of Wooster on US-83. The Farm uses rescued animals, particularly equines, to help hurting children and their families. Differently-abled children and their families come to the farm for tours and to participate in equine play therapy.
When we receive abused or neglected animals, we rehabilitate them at The Farm and use them in our programs. At times, we are able to place equines with needy families on a free-lease basis. In the case of other rescued animals, we often assist in finding them loving homes. From late spring until early fall, we are available to take our animals to various school, church, civic, and sometimes private events.
Life's Little Adventures Farm is a 501c(3) non-profit corporation. Our services on The Farm are offered free of charge to clients (including free-leases of equines to qualifying families). We do ask for donations to cover fuel costs when we take animals off The Farm. Life's Little Adventures Farm is dependent upon the support of those who share in our vision of caring for hurting children and their families. If you would like to help us financially, you can donate via Pay Pal by clicking the "donate" button below. Donations of any amount are appreciated. Thanks for caring!
CAN YOU HELP? Lizzie Willard, 15-year-old daughter of our directors, Randy & Melissa Willard, has been undergoing vision therapy for several months to correct a condition she has had since birth. It is an expensive endeavour, costing approximately $4,000, and it is not covered by their medical insurance. Recently, Lizzie's physicians have discovered the need for specialized audio therapy as well, which will cost an additional $2,500 (again, not covered by insurance). Melissa describes her daughter's condition in this way: "Her brain is comprehending her auditory skills between a 5-8 year old level…so between her eye/ear processes it is like trying to run in 4 ft. of water."
While it is a serious condition they are dealing with, the good news is that it is 100% treatable. The bad news is the cost. The Willards live very simply, and they invest a large portion of their income to supply the needs of the farm. At our April Board Meeting, the LLAF Board Members (excluding Randy & Melissa so as to avoid conflict of interest) voted to make an appeal to help the Willard Family in this time of need.
Anyone who desires to make a tax-deductible donation can do so through Life's Little Adventures Farm. You can click the DONATE button at the end of this message and it will record a donation specifically for Lizzie. If you would like to send a check by mail, please put the notation "for Lizzie Willard" on the check's memo line. The farm's address can be found under the CONTACT section of this website.
The mission of our Farm is to help hurting children in times of need, and Lizzie is one of those children. I can personally say as well that Lizzie is a wonderful young lady, a loving and caring person, who is a hard worker and an integral part of the work on the farm. Any gifts that you can give to help her would be very much appreciated -- both by Randy & Melissa Willard, as well as the LLAF Board Members (Doug Wantz, Angie Wantz, Coleen Hitchcock). Even if you cannot give a financial gift, we would appreciate your prayers for Lizzie and for the needed funds to be provided for her treatment. Please help make a lifelong impact on this young girl's life.
Sincerely, Douglas Wantz, LLAF Board President
