The Frank Brown International Songwriters Festival began in 1984. It started out as a way to celebrate the end of the season for local artists and friends. Over time it has grown into an 11 day festival and musical showcase on the beautiful Gulf Coast. The festival begins on an early Thursday in November. This festival is a celebration of the real architects of the music industry- the songwriters................................................. ...................................... Here is what one attendee had to say:"The Frank Brown International Songwriters Festival is the 1 repose for serious Songwriters... it continues to inspire me in my own songwriting efforts... Whether accepted as a scheduled performer or not, you will get plenty of opportunity, if you attend, to network and co-write under the most inspiring of atmospheres available in a shrinking world of songwriter venues...Fellow Nashville friend, Barbara Cloyd, had been inviting me to come down and hang at the F.B. for several years prior to my eventual surrender to the idea of checking-out F.B. for myself.... it some took added encouragment from fellow songwriter, and girlfriend at the time, Julie Grower. She allowed me to ride her shirt-tails, and hook-up with festival organizer, Reneda and her crewe, at the Gulf Shores... The result....I discovered the excellent exposure provided by this great Music Festival......anyways, my advice to you... "Do yourself a favor", check it out yourself...
