Crooked Line

Crooked Line are a delightful mixture originally consisting of Tony Lay , Paul Cocksedge and Simon Gilroy who first met on the Leicester's Weekend Warrior programme.Ewen Bates on guitar and later Mike Marshall on drums also joined the band initially known as Short Straw, and headed towards their first live performance as part of the Warriors programme at the Musician, Leicester. After their first gig, Short Straw was disbanded with a variety of directions followed. Tony and Paul and eventually Simon continued their Americana quest for righteousness and were joined by Tim Walker on drums Unfortunately, Tim has had to wave farewell to the band due to work and family commitments and we would all like to thank him and wish him well . Luckily Ian Hopgood , renowned for his work with the underground cult covers band Mid Live Crisis has been persuaded to step up to the drum set and Crooked Line hope that he will be able to tolerate the punishing schedule the band have planned. So far, they have played a variety of gigs including the Musician, Leicester and The Royal Oak, Uppingham as the pictures show, and more recently have joined the Deadstring Brothers on stage at the Maze, Nottingham.Soon to embark on a world tour and will be playing, your home town soon.
