Black Lungs story begins in the hot, cider fuelled summer of 2007 , in the outer London Suburbia town of Harrow. Harrow is a town full of shitty stereotypes , e.g. Scenes ,Chavs ,Emos etc and kids thinking there the next Al Fukin Capone.Our home towns only decent traits are that its a quid a pint at the Junction Pub on Tuesdays , and the last post is leniant on licences , the only interesting thing to have happened around here in the last 12months was the Riot between the Cardiff City and Barnsley Fans recently.Harrow also has the misfortune to boast the likes of Kate Nash and Scouting For Girls as its local "talent" , which has unfortunately led to the big "scene" craze in the town. For kids in Harrow there isnt much else to do in the summer a part from drink cider,play music .Our two heros Dan Downer and josh aclaren spent the summer hanging on the hill,apreciatiing beautiful women and jamming on a couple of guitars on the way.Dan who is a London Irish , ex-punk/,pro-IRA "Skank" , with a talent for lyrics, although not alas for public decency , and Josh , 15 year old ,musical maestro ,womanising toss-pot started jamming along to Metallica, and Libertines songs in Josh’s bedroom sumtime in August 2007. It became quite clear after a while that the idea of playing other peoples songs was really Fukin boring, and they began to right their own material. Josh's guitar licks and chords where quite clearly influenced by Guitar bands such as Libertines, Babyshambles, GnR, etc, and Dan then began to right lyrics about the usual day to day shit our heroes and associates were seeing in Harrow, and on occasion in Soho and Camden. It became pretty clear that whilst there where many influences involved in creating "Black Lung sound" it was heavily influenced by Peter Doherty, Libertines, Shane McGowan, Keats and Blake and Heany (lyrics) and by local band Apostates. By September Dan and Josh had had the idea to form a band and began to practice with several drummers and bassists over the course of several sleaze fuelled weekends under the name Narcotics, and by October they had roughly 8 tracks down. However, that month Josh and Dan decided to get rid of the temporary members , coz they "didn’t gel" and were joined by 15 year old "drummer wiv da Mohawk", Jack "cones" Rickard , and his sidekick-Joe. Both as immature as a 12 old in a sex-ed lesson, they brought a new rhythmic and "focused" direction to the group and helped to create the sound we have now, we also renamed the band "Black Lungâ€, a sarcastic "fuck you" to everyday society. You probably think most of our songs are about fucking, fighting, drinking, but that’s only coz tbh the ones we recorded and where catchy involved them, not to say there’s anything wrong with it. Hopefully when we get a few more tracks up we wont look so much like narrow-minded cunts. Scratch that-we ARE narrow-minded cunts. Only joking. Our world consists of Music/Girls/Cheap Chicken/Booze and generally being complete arseholes , but as someone once said "you know your good when people take the time to hate you". we are up for playing gigs whenever but if your reading this now we would appreciate feedback or summat , as i gess you the reader decides if we are decent or not , eh? We have some gigs coming up soon around harrow and Camden possibly so try turn up an who knows, we might even buy you a beer?Songs are now up on the Myspace and we will soon be giving out EP's
