Grievous Blues was formed in early 2007 when talented young guitarist Sam Cody approached local jam tart Trevor Harms to form a Blues / Rock combo ....at first reluctant, Trevor received a kick up the ass from the missus (Tinki) and the search was on .......initially let down by unreliable drummers and bassists Trevor and Sam persevered and secured their first gig on the strength of their jam performances, at the Crown and Cushion, Minley (big thanks to Julie and Will) - with the talents of Chris Saunders (Five Field Holler) who stepped into the second guitar slot, brothers Chris (Drums - Inside Information) and Dave Jull (Guitarist -Inside Information & The Mushrooms). The first gig went ahead with 3 guitarists and young "into EMO" college bassist Mick (whats EMO I asked!!). The recording of "Lazy Poker" is from that first gig (Thanks to Chris Brown @ Sharpedge).Several gigs down the line and the bands fortunes took an upward turn when Chris Saunders decided to give full support, bringing along the solid backline of Emil Engstrom and Robin Lowrey (Five Field Holler).Big thanks also go out to all the Musicians who have depped and helped on the way - Marco Andreose (Five Field Holler) for the occasional but excellent Keyboards, Richard West and Colin Streeter (Out of the Blue), "Magic" Billy Faulkner, Mike Harms, Neil Turfitt (Lost Roberts) and Kevin & Tristan O'Kelly(Fuzed) also the Cody brothers Pete and John, Sams Pa and Uncle and of courseTinks. Why Grievous?? ..... well apart from being a 1920s Blues song by Fanny May Goosby, it is also derived from an old football nickname of Trevors based on his surname, "Harms" and GBH (Grievous Bodily Harm). He's a pussycat really!!Myspace Layouts
