About Me

"There is comfort in melancholy"-Joni Mitchell. Music is very important to me because it is the only therapy that seems to work on my screwed up brain. The second reason it is important is because there is a song associated with so many moments in my life and music brings those memories to life. Thirdly, it's what I do everyday. I started playing classical piano at age five and continued studying from adolescence into my twenties under Ruth Bunch. She was the most amazing teacher ever, but our lessons were awkward because she had like triple g boobs. As a matter of fact, each lesson would start with two octaves of scales. Well, by the time I got to G and the second octave, her boobs would be in the way. I would ask myself questions like: "Do I squeeze my hands underneath them and just keep going or do I jump them with my hands to reach the other notes?" God rest her soul. When I was sixteen, thanks to blue-haired Ruth, I auditioned for the Interlochen School of Arts and made it. Unfortunately, I was a whooped punk at 16 and passed up the opportunity. My love for piano and the spiritual gift of rhythm allowed me to focus my attention on other instruments such as the drums, bass guitar, and acoustic guitar. As a result, I started to play in several bands. The rock star dream has ended (except for when I'm in the shower), but I still love to play for people and may start playing soon at a venue near you. Here is a little background on family: I have an amazing son named Christian. I've been teaching him piano and filling his ipod with influence. There are five kids in my family and my dad thinks we are all a pain in the ass. The first three were born in Providence, Rhode Island. We migrated to Fort Worth, Texas and the twins were born. Everybody in my family likes to have the last word so when there is an argument, the only way to end it is to get in your car and drive away. My dad would like to live in a log cabin surrounded by mountains and kind of do the Osama thing. We are all musical and artistic; like the Partridge Family or a non-gay version of Rent. Some of my favorite moments were meeting and hanging out with Olga Kern (Van Cliburn competition gold medalist), The Soup reunion show at Gypsy Tea Room, rocking out the OU Delt Dive in front of around a thousand drunk college students (I guess you could say Young MC opened up for us), and chillin' with some of the original New York cast members from "Bring in Da' Noise, Bring in Da' Funk." That night turned into a jam session that started from an open mike night at a local jazz bar and ended at a friend's house around five in the morning. It was awesome! By the way Cinco, I still skate and like Johnny Rad said, "Skate and destroy. I love to skate. Skating is guhreeeyate!"Turn-offs: People who are shallow, pretentiousness, shadiness and insecurity.Turn-ons: People who are passionate about anything! It could be collecting stamps, bugs, bottlecaps, whatever.
