Batagraf is a percussion project initiated by Jon Balke and Helge Norbakken. Drawing upon the traditions of west african and cuban percussion music, the project seeks to develop new possibilities in working with rythm. In this work the relation rythm/ language is becoming more and more important, and this is why the the workings of Batagraf involve vocal performers like Jaap Blonk, Sidsel Endresen, etc, as well as standup comedians like Espen Beranek Holm and Are Kalvoe
