Angie O graduated from the University of Kentucky as a saxophone performance major 2008. She began playing the saxophone in fifth grade and later discovered she had a passion for singing as well. She made her singing debut during her senior year of high school while participating in the Youth Jazz Ensemble of DuPage (YJED), an auditioned big band that consisted of some of the top youth jazz musicians in the Chicagoland area. Angie has sang regularly with several groups. To name a few, the DiMartino/Osland Jazz Orchestra, the Kentucky Jazz Repretory Orchestra, and the Miles Osland Little Big Band. She has had the privilege of performing with such artist as Bob Mintzer, Oscar D'Leon, Byron Strippling, Mike Mower, Terrell Stafford, Ron Model, Jay Flippin, Bob Lark, Mark Colby, Vince DiMartino, Miles Osland, Zach Brock, Matt Baker and Frank Mantooth. In 2005 and 2007 she recieved Outstanding Soloist Awards at the Elmhurst College Jazz Fesitval. She won the Gordon Goodwin "Big Phat Jam" and was featured on the Big Phat Band DVD singing, Diane Reeves', "Too Close For Comfort". She also recieved two Student Music Awards from Down Beat Magazine as a Jazz Vocalist and the other for her participation in the UK Mega Sax Ensemble. Angie currently works for Norwegian Cruise Line as a Saxophonist and Singer. She has worked on the Sky, as well as the Dawn. Her current plans are to continue working for NCL through Mike Suman (www.sumanent.com) for another year and then possibly continue on to Graduate School. While off ships, she resides and works in the Chicagoland Area. ____________________________________________________________
