This is a work in progress.
Let's see, I brought my wife & 2 boys to Austin in June of '07 to get a dose of Texas music, and see what I can add to it. For the past several years, I have been making my living playing the bass for several Ca bands (mostly cover tunes). Pretty much doing the private and corporate event and festival thing. I have had the privilege of working with and getting to know what I feel are the finest musicians on the central coast of CA. Some of whom (more to come) are listed in my influences. Also, while working with various bands over the past 12 or so years in CA, Eight Second Ride, Tobacco Road Band, Steve Bennett, Original Copy and McCarty & Company, I was blessed with the opportunity to share the stage with, perform for, or share the bill with some notable performers and celebrities. Some of the names include Willie Nelson, Leon Russell, John Denver, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Crystal Gail, Mary Wilson and Johnny Rivers. Also, playing parties at the AT&T golf tourny hosted at Clint Eastwood's Mission Ranch on the beautiful Monterey Bay in Carmel, attended by Kevin Costner, Clint, Huey Lewis, George Bush, Michael Chikliss (who happens to be a fantastic singer), Randy Quaid (I asked if he had any more money buried in coffee cans in his yard) and a whole bunch of other folks.
Since arriving in Texas, I have already had the good fortune of being able to play for 2 different acts at the ACL festival (thanks Steve "Jambo" Pierson), and 1 at the Big State festival. As I get to know my way around and get to meet the musicians of Austin, I am excited at the possibilities that lie before me. I have already met lots of outstanding people and players alike, and I look forward to the future....
