About Me

~*WHO ARE THE PLASTICS?*~
The Plastics is an international organization, sisterhood, school and club for groupies. We are a sorority of a sense. Think a rock n' roll version of The Red Hat Society or The Girlscouts. Our elite chapters spread all over the world and consist of one captain, which must be approved by Plastics President, Lexa Vonn and as many members as the captain of each indivisual chapter would like to include. The Plastics have two basic types of chapters, Plastics and Plastics Juniors. Plastic girls must be between the ages of 18-35 to join and Junior Plastics must be between the ages of 14-17 to join. Our activities focus around everything that has to do with music and alternative fashion. The Plastics main sport is going to concerts and learning how to meet the band, collect photos, autographs and other memorabilia, and to form friendships and personal relationships with rock stars and others in the industry. Lexa Vonn works personally with the captain of each Plastics chapter and gives them training on how to get backstage, approach celebrities, and creatively support musicians of all genres and success levels. Our lesser activites include modeling rock n' roll fashions and pin-up, writing reviews of concerts and CD's and promoting local bands in our respective areas.
~*THE HISTORY OF THE ORIGINAL PLASTICS?*~
The Plastics were created to bring back the spirit of groupie chic past. We were inspired by the social risks and freedom spirited ways of girls living in the rock n' roll world in the 1960's. In a time where the music industry has become controlled and void of any real rebellion, we decided to create a social clique here in Hollywood, CA based on and dedicated to groups of girls that create their own social rules and norms rather than succumbing to those set for them by others. Reminiscent of power cliques portrayed in your favorite teen movies, we are a living satire of ourselves. We are worshippers of art and music and live as our own character creations. We are everything but serious but play hard none the less. It was a good two years we spent trying to change the ever-growing conservatism and dullness of pop culture. We gallavanted the clubs dressed in lingerie, we go-go danced onstage to our friend's bands, we wrote live reviews for Rock City News and appeared on talk shows such as Tyra Banks, we did a book with Pamela Des Barres, we loved, we fought, we fucked...we conquered!
~*SO WHAT DO THE PLASTICS BELIEVE?*~
We believe in coloring the world with lipstick and glitter, we believe in life, we believe in giving credit where credit is due and honoring the artists and rock stars that inspire us to admire them and co-create reality with them. We believe in ourselves. We believe in celebrating the beautiful and astounding creations and statements of our mentors and friends. We believe in using inspiration to create new art. We believe that we are all canvases of expression. "Im not an artist, Im a fucking work of art!" We are muses. We are mistresses. We are mothers of invention. You don't have to be musically inclined or be a master painter to be an artist, you just have to be creative, live and love your own and the creations of others.
This page is dedicated to everyone who ever fell in love with a rock star for the music, had their life changed by a movie or book or simply contributed to a scene by showing up and being fabulous, fun and sexy at all times!
