Sure I can tell you the little story about how as a kid I used to beat on everything....furniture, kitchen table, in the car w/ mom on those long trips to the country to see my great grandma "Mama Charity" in Louisiana; or tearing up mom's old magnavox player w/ the turntable, tape deck and radio all in one; or listening to the radio and taping the same favorite song over and over to make it a longer version! or beating up every drum set I ever got for christmas and mom finally deciding that "yes son, you will be playing the trumpet from now on"!! Yep...doesn't every dj start off that way? But in the late 80's after coming back home from the Army (Hawaii was the shit!!; can u boogie board?) I collected all these 12" records because I loved instrumentals, then during my college days, I finally came to the conclusion that I always wanted to be a dj, so why not try. So I scrapped up enough money for 2 beltdrive tech's and a radio shack mixer. Many years later, I met DJ Vibe here in columbus and the rest is history in the making. It's so sad that I had to give up on vinyl.........Still love the album covers to use for decoration though. KEEP VINYL ALIVE!!!! Tryin to get folks to open up to "soulful" house music here in columbus, ohio!!!!! Ever since I checked out Club Shelter (nyc) w/ DJ Vibe in 2000...I've fallin in love with Soulful House music. Soulful House is....... Love; Sexy; Peaceful; Inspirational; Spiritual; Funky; Disco; Jazzy; SIMPLY BEAUTIFUL!!!! YOU WON'T SEE SOMEONE STARTING ANY MESS ....."HEY MAN, U JUST STEPPED ON MY SHOES!!" KINDA THING.....JUST FOLKS VIBIN' WITH THE MUSIC!!!! I'm constantly researching, practicing weekly, buying what I can afford and organizing my files so I can one day do my thang!! BELIEVE ME, IF YOU LOVE NU-SOUL OR ANY TYPE OF SOUL MUSIC....YOU CAN GET W/ SOULFUL HOUSE!! (There's so many different styles of course, but I like to play these types of themes.....Jazzy & Lounge; Funky; Disco; Remixes of Classic Rn'B joints; Inspirational; Sexy (congo's and percussions) and of course anything about LOVE!!!!!) Don't be afraid of the music, It's just faster; that's all......YOU CAN KEEP UP!!!!! JUST CLOSE YOUR EYES AND LET GO!!!!
