Dirty jazz
mixed with a tablespoon of reggae, five ounces of big-up-yo beats. Cooked with
electronics and sifted thoroughly with sexy flamenco, a spoonful of ska and
a pinch of soul. Let sit for three minutes and then spice with other flavours
of the world.
The Brow is a zany six or so piece eclectic jam band from Fremantle
who mix quirky melodies, vibrant horns, crafty conversations and bounce worthy
beats. The band suffer a severe identity crisis and therefore dabble in the
genre multitudes bringing a broad range or Jazz, Hip Hop, Ska, Electronic and
Folk backgrounds to the table. Despite the personality disorder, The Brow have
made a name for themselves with dynamic stage shows, catchy tunes and hectic
mayhem which often ends up face down in the crowd.
Starting off as a youthful busking duo, Karri Harper Meredith & Nicholas
Owen hit the streets of Fremantle armed with tacky Hawaiian shirts and a small
portable amp spreading the message via a battery run Casio keyboard which was
the foundation of the band's ever evolving sound.
Since then, The Brow have expanded their line-up picking people up from station
to station, as the ever growing circus train rolls further and further down
the musical track.
The Brow filled the stage with barely organised chaos including
glowy ball twirling and a groove more infectious than swine flu.

MC Peter Barr got the formalities out of the way and introduced one of the
night's more unique acts, The Brow, representing Curtin and inspiring a fair
bit of dancing. Blending folk, hip-hop and lounge, and with a dynamic stage
show, the four-piece were definitely early contenders for the title. [National

They should be seen live by everyone. Again and again and again.
- Anne Johnsen, FasterlouderI have known The Brow to be smattered with essential oils before they play a gig ... always necessary for a musical goodness I find.
- Damien Smith, Morning Magazine, RTRFMThe Brow are truly an alphabet soup of talent that blend genres seamlessly and effortlessly.
