About Me

After being at the forefront of the Australian dance scene for 20 years DJ Brendon has done it all. In 2001 at Central Station's Dance Music awards he received an award for lifetime achievement, also voted best S.A Dj at the Motorola Australian DMA's and in national DJ polls ranked number 1 in S.A and top 25 in the country .Starting out in the mid 80's Brendon's early influences were derived from the hip hop sound, thus starting his interest in the art of turntablism. Convinced by another local DJ, James Ingram, to enter a trick DMC DJ competition to make up numbers back in 88, Brendon ended up coming fourth against club DJ's with experience of ten years and more. The interest of promoters grew after witnessing his technical ability. A residency came in 1988 at Adelaide's first pure house club called The Strand alongside the Groove Terminator and HMC.The years progressed and Brendon continued to enter the DMC DJ competition for another four years, coming second in 89 and 90, finally to take the state title in 91 and 93, where he placed second in the Australian competition. At the same time Brendon was pushing boundaries of music in the dance scene to become Adelaide's top resident at clubs like Deep, Arkaba, Metro, Star Club, Synagogue, Heaven, Le Rox, The Planet, Discovery, Q Bar, Nation, Red Room, Cargo, St Pauls, Sugar, Rapture, Tonic, Savvy etc etc.These days he resides at Red Square, the Alma, Marble Bar & HQ as well as doing regular guest spots at other Adelaide clubs and big parties. His current music styles range from slick house to bangin electro.He has supported some of the world's biggest names on the global scene including the likes of The Prodigy, Moby, Faithless, Basement Jaxx, Chemical Brothers, Carl Cox, Paul Oakenfold, Paul Van Dyk, Pete Tong, Sasha, Ferry Corsten, BT, Armand Van Helden, Roger Sanchez, Fedde Le Grande, Axwell, Sebastien Leger plus too many more to mention and continues to support internationals on a regular basis.Brendon has traveled extensively across Australia throughout the years playing in Sydney, Melbourne, Perth, Darwin, Brisbane, The Gold Coast, Canberra, Falls Creek, Mt Hotham and Geelong and DJed at most major clubs, including Home, Salt, Plastic, Dome, Gas, Sounds On Sunday, Room, Mansion, Discovery, Q, My Bar, Time and Viva just to name a few. He also toured in 2000 with one of Australia's finest DJs, and good friend, Sean Quinn from Melbourne, to promote their Ministry Of Sound CD "Clubbers Guide To Summer 2000".He has featured on radio shows on Kiss Fm (Melb), Sydney Dance Radio, Triple J's Mix Up six times and at the moment is currently doing a show on Fresh FM called "Clubber's Drive" Saturday nights between 9-11pm with partner in crime Steve Hart. They have won best radio show 4 times running at the S.A. Dance Music Awards. Only recently the show has gone national being broadcast in Brisbane on Switch 1197.Musically he has had numerous releases throughout the years both here and overseas on labels like Vicious Vinyl, Rabbit City Records, Amato Disco, Sony and EMI ranging from tuff club tunes to chillout tracks included on Ministry Of Sound selections cds.
