About Me

Modern guitar bric-a-brac-ist and composer, often time member of slaughterhouse pops beat duo Misterlee and unwieldy/cumbersome superbrain massif The Birmingham Improvisers' Orchestra. Spends daylight hours in brooding antediluvian Owlhouse, imagining music and attempting to overcome the paralysing introspection via composing, improvising, recording, ding-a-ling.
Mastermind behind uber-indie cottage label owlhouse recordings and co-father/curator of free-improv wonderland www.frimp.co.uk with tech-o-geek Paul Drewett.

'Jamie's guitaring is a phenomenon to behold, an exercise in controlled passion... The contrast between power and restraint is a detail in a much bigger picture. Frequent stylistic switches sometimes read as jolting or stilted, sometimes as swerves in the enigmatic but ordered flight of the bumble bee. For all the swerves and switchbacks, the guitar breezes jazz and drips sweet blues.'
'[Jamies] guitar creates a warm southern comfort sound of picking and thrumming, and flocks of feathering that see hands moving too fast to focus on.'
'rock-quarrying crunchiness and playfully seething guitar' from Opposition T live reviews.
'Jamie takes us further out...' Bruce Lee Gallanter, Downtown Music Gallery
