About Me

Well hello there everyone. i thought it was about time i took a few hours out and finally got a myspace sorted. For those of you who don’t know my names Miguel Doforo im 30 and from Liverpool. Were do i start ive done so much, but then again ive got so much to do. I own a production company called md productions. This is my life its my baby i love my work so much, it gives me so much satisfaction, fulfillment, everyday is different at md you never know what’s gonna happen next. Im proud of what i have created at md productions so far, but by no means settled there’s so much more out there, so much more for us to do and so much for us to learn. The day i think we can’t give a better show, create a better piece or im bored that will be the day i say its time to stop. i started md in 2001 and 6 years on im still as passionate about it now as i was the day i sat down with my advised and made my business plan. i started in a little social club called Manics, i had this idea of putting on a show called music in the Neptune theatre in Liverpool. Having already staged a fashion show at the age of 16 with my cousin Leanne i thought i had enough knowledge to put on a full stage show and set up my own company. Haha was i wrong. Its allot more that putting a cast together and choreographing a few dancers. it started with holding auditions over 2 nights, selecting the cast, at the same time writing the script and working out the running order, then designing the costumes. sounds like fun doesn’t it, well then you have to deal with performers who think there too big for there boots, arguments between performers, pushy parents (all you’s with your own school you will no all about these ha) meetings at the venue when you don’t really no what your talking about, ticket sales and trying to meet the costs of this ever growing budget. Music took place in June 2001 and turned out to be a great success, we sold out for 2 nights and i can still remember looking at my cast at the end of the night and feeling so proud wed got there. i decided here i needed to take some time out and learn from everything that had happened over the last 5 months and make some real plans on what i wanted to with md and how to move it forward, so for the only time ever so far i took a 6 month break, this was the best thing i have ever done. While i was working on music i spotted a premises on during road in Wavertree and i set about taking over the venue. it was a mess, a real mess i think my mum thought id gone insane, it had holes in the roof, no electric, broken windows and was basically fallen down inside. but it was cheap and i could see it had potential. so i took it. we patched it up and 6 months later in January 2002 i opened md productions as a school, i was now running dance, drama, and singing classes and was lovin it. it was just getting bigger and bigger and my head was bursting with ideas. i was ready to put out my next production spectacular spectacular and came up with the idea of making the md company dancers ( my kids as i like to call them now). at this time in holding the auditions for the company i met some of the closet people i have around me today, made enemies and learnt some valuable lessons but hey life’s for learning and everything happens for a reason. now 6 years on md is so much more than we were at Manics, now with a fulltime college, a full time dance company (who mean the world to me they display my thoughts and my creative ideas and i thank them for coming along for the ride). we also have dance, drama and singing classes everyday of the week, have over 300 students, tour the country performing, played every theatre in the uk, were semi finalists in Britain’s Got Talent 2007, produce many of our own shows every year, have schools in Huyton and Rainford, opening 10 new schools in the next 6 weeks. people as you see im passionate about my work and would go on and on all day but am gonna shut up about that now (you can wait for the book).
