About Me
This is a story about the LOST GONZO BAND, started in 1973. They played and recorded with many of Texas' most colorful musicians including Jerry Jeff Walker, Michael Martin Murphey and Ray Wylie Hubbard, but it was their tenure with Jerry Jeff that they cut their teeth on the Far World's Roads....Success is survival and the Original Members of the Gonzos were Gary P. Nunn, Bob Livingston, John Inmon, Kelly Dunn, Tomas Ramirez and Donny Dolan... Over the years, many others once and future Gonzos were inducted into the Gonzo Brotherhood and still perform gracefully and admirably when called upon: Paul Pearcy, Craig D. Hillis, Herbert Steiner, Mike Holloman, Michael McGeary, Lloyd Maines, Radislav Lorkovic and Riley Osbourn, to name a few.... Our friend and former Gonzo Brother, Bobby Smith passed away this past year, may he rest peacefully. The Gonzos released three albums in the '70's, two on MCA and one on Capitol. Rolling Stone called them great. The Village Voice swooned...The Gonzos recorded two more Cds in the '90s for Austin based Vireo Records: Rendezvous, in 1992 and Hands of Time, in 1995. In 1998, Demon/Edsel, out of the UK, released a compilation CD of the first two MCA records entilled, Dead Armadillos....The LGB reunited at the Kerrville Folk Festival May 26, 2008 and recorded their show for a future release!!...The REAL STORY about the LOST GONZO BAND, its history, dreams and confusion can be found at: www.TexasMusic.org/lost_gonzo_band.php...LOST GONZO DISOGRAPHY (SO FAR):* The Lost Gonzo Band (MCA Records) 1975
