Skip is an active supporter of local original artists & bands - he has long been (& still is) heavily involved in nurturing new talent through the pub jam scene, his involvement in musical theatre, his work in music retail & his work at the Newmarket Hotel.
Skip is passionately committed to sharing the joy that performing can bring... to artists & audiences alike.
Skip's solo EP "The Fool", released in 1999, was recorded at Soul Studios by engineer & accomplished drummer Rod Bradbury. Accompanying the Skipperman were: Tyson Hodges on Guitar, Gordon Yule on Bass & Rod himself on Drums. The CD (some of which can be sampled here) was mastered at Crystal Mastering in Melbourne.
The Lick are a 4-piece band who fell together from jam sessions at the Golden Vine Hotel & the Newmarket Hotel. In The Lick, Skip is ably assisted in bringing some of his original songs to life by the incredible talents of Josh DeAraugo (Guitar), Jacob McGuffie (Bass & Vocals) & Jack Michael (Drums). The band gel together effortlessly & have a great time on stage, which is consistently shared by the audiences who get to see them perform.
Ethanol made a big splash when they made their Queenscliff Music Festival debut in 2007. They also wowed the audience at the Sydney Rd Street Party (as part of the Brunswick Music Festival) on February 24th 2008, where Melbourne based guitar-king Shannon Bourne observed: "...Definitely the most rocking band that day!"
