Rahnda Rize is a Powerful Multifaceted Artist who was born to perform. Her Kiswahili/Kemetic name means to dance, come forth and shine her light. She embodies this name to the fullest possessing a powerful stage presence that is meant to be seen! She is what the performing arts world calls a triple threat. Not only is she a powerful vocalist and one of many soul singers emerging from Philly, she is a songwriter, poet, trained dancer and actress. She has performed all over the city of Philadelphia at such venues as the African American Museum (as Harriet Tubman & Bessie Smith), Freedom Theatre, the Philadelphia Fringe Festival, Temple University’s Conwell Theatre, the prestigious October Gallery Panoramic Poetry and the Odunde Festival to name a few. In 2002 she made her New York City debut as “Titilayo, the African Ancestor†in an Off-Broadway production called Khepera and recently starred as “Mamie Tillâ€, Emmitt Till's mother in the Civil Rights musical "Ain't Nobody Gonna Turn Me 'Round". Currently, Ms. Rize holds a B.A. degree in Broadcasting/Communications from Temple University where she was a Jazz Host/DJ on the NPR affiliate WRTI 90.1 FM. She is a member of the Kaleidoscope Community Arts Collective & affiliated with countless artistic entities throughout the city of Philadelphia.
