Garden of Ether

About Me

Doug Rowed is a Canadian painter that created sonic landscapes in the 1970's through the 90's, using simple basic equipment to create these soundscapes. After a chance meeting between Doug and Shawn Hall, the music has now been digitized from worn out reel to reel tapes, saved from storage in the outside garden shed and edited and arranged by Shawn, to create the GARDEN OF ETHER. The primitive equipment to create the sounds on the old four track, included an ARP synth, RYTHM ACE beat box, and a ROLAND space echo. Later tracks used real drums and an early KORG. All instruments are played by Doug except for guitar on the track , "Dog in the Timeyard"- played by Rick Salt. The album lends the listeners mind to a wandering, so if you are so inclined, enjoy the cd while kicking back ,working on art work, or whatever you like. I've also been told by friends that it is a really good road trip album.
