____________________________________________________________ ___________ ----- -----Ja’Dye’s JOURNEY----- By: Ms. Keller ----- ____________________________________________________________ ___________ -----Ja’ Dye is an up and coming talent who is sure to draw a large audience with his innovating, R&B inspired sound Growing up Ja’ Dye was surrounded by a very musical family. Everyone seemed to have some kind of musical talents, everyone except for his mother who wanted Ja’ Dye to have the opportunities to grow with music as she watched the rest of her family do and saw the numerous rewards from it. Ja’ Dye began taking piano lessons at a young age and kept with his lessons taking a liking to them. He also became interested in other instruments in which he can now play the alto saxophone as well as various percussion related instrument such as the drum set. ____________________________________________________________ ___________ -----Ja’ Dye has also always been a writer. He started his poetry while still in grade school. He wrote about anything and everything whenever he had the opportunity. He used his poetry as his way of observing and making sense of his surroundings. Now with his growing focus in music his poetry has turned into songs. He still very much observes others and wonders what stories these people who surround him have to tell. In turn he creates songs about love and relationships. He is affected by the lady talking to her son in which he relates himself to their possible story and eventually turns into an enjoyable song. ____________________________________________________________ ____________ -----In the summer of 2005 good friend, Alex Dawkins, asked Ja’ Dye to help create beats for Alex’s music and also become his manager. Throughout the time of being manager Ja’ Dye was exposed to this world of music making and he developed a great interest in the entire process. This inspired him to focus more on his own songs and think about the steps it would take for him to start his own music career. Ja’ Dye was unsure about his voice so he took vocal lessons and now has improved his singing to a level of satisfaction which can be described as a soulful and yet not overpowering voice. ____________________________________________________________ ____________ -----With his own music he intends to give people songs they can relate to and help them in one way or the other, whether that be in a form of support or just something to dance to. Being a producer of music Ja’ Dye has become an accurate judge for what is good music. Therefore he becomes a very harsh judge when it comes to his own music. He is constantly critiquing his work and pushing himself harder in order to create perfection.
