About Me

A t first glance one could tell that we make up quite an accidental gathering. Busy with many different things in our everyday lives, we definitely share one common feature - our devotion to music. Although Ireland is more than five minutes' walk from here, every one of us feels in some way inclined to the music of this country. Those of us who were lucky enough to visit Ireland well remember the hospitality, warmth of the Irish people and their attachment to their native tradition. Faithful to music, constituting a vital part of that tradition, we aim at performing it possibly close to the original, occasionally straying a bit from the established rules and adding something of our own ideas. We regard the Irish Traditional Music both as an art that we approach with respect and care, as well as a phenomenon that gives us great joy, satisfaction and draws us away from our daily routines. One day we came up with an idea to focus on our common interests and see how it works - that is how our band came into being. Duan (Irish for "poem, song") combining within its meaning both word and music, renders what we mean to express. We will be happy if you care to listen.
