About Me

I am an artist from Baltimore, Md. I primarily work in oils but have used other media as well. I work at a small custom furniture company where I get to muck about in paint and stain every day, so I'm a happy camper. We have a lot of fun and frolic there, and I actually look forward to going to work in the morning! My favorite day of the week is Saturday, where I can spend the entire day rocking out in my paint studio. It's like a mini vacation inside my own head. If you think that sounds crazy, you should try it sometime! Check my pics to view some of my artwork.I'm also into yarn. I spin my own, and like to crochet it into cool garments that I design. That's what I generally do to relax in the evening, usually accompanied by a nice glass of wine. The rest of my free time (ha!) is spent improving my fixer-upper house. Next stop - new flooring upstairs!New! Check out my artwork at www.haefnerpaintings.comCheck out my new project!

You are The Moon

Hope, expectation, Bright promises.

The Moon is a card of magic and mystery - when prominent you know that nothing is as it seems, particularly when it concerns relationships. All logic is thrown out the window.

The Moon is all about visions and illusions, madness, genius and poetry. This is a card that has to do with sleep, and so with both dreams and nightmares. It is a scary card in that it warns that there might be hidden enemies, tricks and falsehoods. But it should also be remembered that this is a card of great creativity, of powerful magic, primal feelings and intuition. You may be going through a time of emotional and mental trial; if you have any past mental problems, you must be vigilant in taking your medication but avoid drugs or alcohol, as abuse of either will cause them irreparable damage. This time however, can also result in great creativity, psychic powers, visions and insight. You can and should trust your intuition.

Water Bill Woes

This is how it is. Five years ago in 2002 my water bill skyrocketed from $30 a quarter to $200-something. My toilet had been running a little bit so I fixed it. Next quarter - $200-something. So ...

A New Addition

So I'm getting a new addition to my family of me and my cat, Sasquatch. Another orange cat. Here is the story. My friend's neighbors decided they didn't want their cat anymore, after having him for th...

I May Lose My Mind

It's the 21st of February. Right smack in the dead of winter. There's a reason it's always the 'dead' of winter - because it just plain SUCKS. And we've actually had a mild one so far this year. It st...

Generally I find weather fascinating. The patterns in summer and winter caused by the jet stream, mixes of moist air, cool air, thunderstorms, snow. It is amazing how fluctuations in the jet stream ca...

Thanksgiving...and holidays in general

Okay. It's Thanksgiving. I had invites from family, friends, and my boss. All I wanted to do today was work for a little overtime and hang sheet rock. Why do people think that's so wierd? I politely r...

And you thought I was talking about the holidays! No. Spitting Season is in full swing. It came a little late this year due to extended periods of warm weather. A glorious season it is, when the sidew...

Halloween

Ahh, Halloween. Samhain. The Celtic new year. It's always been my favorite holiday. As a kid we'd decorate bags, carve pumpkins and trick-or-treat. As a young adult we'd carve pumpkins, make elaborate...
