Journey South (Andy and Carl Pemberton) hit the big time in 2005 when they appeared on the UK reality show 'X Factor' coming third behind runner-up Andy Abraham and winner Shayne Ward. The guys were the real winners in the end though, when their debut album 'Journey South' beat Andy Abraham to the top spot in March 2006, and ended up outselling both the winner and runner-up. Their debut album went on to gain double platinum BPI certification, and to be one of the fastest albums of 2006.
Their second album was to follow, and as ambitious as ever, the guys doubled it up with their own record label, ANCA records. 'Home' was recorded in Sweden and with 11 out of the 12 tracks were written by Andy and Carl, yet another dream had been accomplished. Released in October 2008, this album was also hugely successful, and coincided with the success of their single 'What I Love About Home' which was adopted by BFBS radio for the British troops, and also the childrens charity Banardos for their 2008 campaign.
Journey South are, to date, the most booked act ever to come out of the X Factor. Since the show they have done masses of gigs throughout the UK and Europe, including two headline and sell out UK tours - a 38 date tour in 2006 followed by a 43 date tour in 2008.Andy and Carl continue to perform all around the UK and Europe, aswell as setting their sights on other territories. 2008 saw the release of a Journey South album (a hybrid of the first and second albums fron the guys) in South Africa.
