About Me

The Detroit Youth Concert Choir & Performing Arts Company (D.Y.C.), formally known as the Detroit Children's Concert Choir / Performing Arts Inc. (DC3)This Performing Arts Company was founded September 1996 under the very fine conductorship of Mr. Fleming Ivory and later taken over in September 2001 by Mr. Anthony White and Mr. Harry Patton. The youth are still singing together in harmony.Members of the group have been performing and staging concerts around the city and the world. The 48 + member non-profit organization is devoted to developing the creative skills of some of Detroit's finest youth. Our staff wants to give Detroit Youth a world-class performing arts experience by teaching them how to sing with proper tone, master stage presence, and to use professional dance methods. The students have performed throughout Michigan, Chicago, Mississippi, Atlanta, Tennessee, Toronto, and Canada. T.V. performances on Fox 2 Detroit Morning show, Rooster Tail, Hyatt Regency, various social performances in Detroit. Members of D.Y.C. must maintain a 2.5 G.P.A. or better, and be between the ages of 8 - 18. They must also be willing to travel and eager to perform.
