About Me

This page is dedicated to my Musical, Philosophical, Political and Ideological realities, and the sharing of such via my "friend's pages", "band web site" and of course, my music.
I also dedicate this page to acknowledgments. Something that I have found to be a rarity.
There are people on these pages that I know and/or have worked with, and there are those I have never met and probably never will.
I have family and friends here. Some I have known for more than thirty five years.
They are all here because I wish to thank them.
Thank them for the gifts they have shared, not to elevate myself by association.
Their music may have touched my soul and inspired me. They may have given me a leg up when I needed it. They may have acknowledged me and my talents and asked me to join them in their endeavors.
Or, there's just something about them that has left an impression that should be recognized.
I want visitors to this page to become aware of them, (their music or ideals) as where they otherwise may have not, if not for this page....
This intersection.
Peace and Blessings,
Kevin

Of the six tracs offered, the forth and sixth are from my self produced cd
"The Perfect Place".
Compositions, keyboards, programming, performance and production,
Your's Truly...... Tracs two and three are one of my symphonic compositions (in two parts due to size of file) entitled Mother's Suite, sequenced on a single Korg O1W/fd workstation in real-time.
No conductor...wink. No quantizing.
Note*
I wish to again thank Mark Piszczek for his help, (his four Wagnerian measures) where I had painted myself into a corner and was otherwise unable to reach the recapitulation of this composition.
Tracs one and five (spontaneous improvisation) are from the first "Meridian" cd.
Trac one features the original "Meridian" members, bassist Chris Golden,
guitarist Pete Christainsen and Glenn-Kevin Harris on Djembe'.
Click on "Lyrics" inside music player for instrumentation, players and recording techniques. The forming of "Meridian" would be the beginning of a five year run of total improvisational bliss on stage and in the studio. And though over the past two years the members have changed, the bliss continues with, Laweeyum/Larry Williams, guitarist Jeff Miley and bassists such as Ric Fierabracci, Doug Shreeve and Joel Woods. Trac one along with five other tracs found on the cd "Meridian" were recorded the first night the three original members came together in a small garage studio in Ventura. Photos...In the third photo from left to right: Me, Larry Williams, Pete Christiansen and Chris Golden during a performance at J's in Ventura California.
Hope you enjoy...more to come. Other ongoing projects that I am honored to be part of are.....A cd project with guitarist Jeff Miley and bassist Ric Fierabracci. And the forming of a new group with Larry Williams, based around the voicing's of guitar, percussion and vocals. Peace and Blessings,
Kevin

Band Members:

The anomaly known as the "Meridian" band is my rebirth.
Three decades of composition and listening were unleashed with the creation of this acoustic improvisational trio.

With the encouragement and positive energies of my musical mentors and friends, most notably, Pete Çhristiansen, "The HUB" Larry Williams, Mark Piszczek and Chris Golden, I granted myself the confidence or "permission" to start this project, Meridian. The project that will always begin with: guitarist/composer Pete "Per" Christiansen (the soul) and bassist (from another star system) Chris Golden.
Other cherished members and friends include; Larry Williams, Jeff Miley and
Ric Fierabracci.
Guitarist Tariqh Akoni. Bassists Billie Breland, Doug Shreeve and Joel Woods.
Guitarists Barry Coates, Marcelo Berestovoy, Ken Rosser and Brian Price.
Bassist Hamilton Price III, and the most incredible, percussionist Lenny Castro.
(One night while at a Girl Scout Camperee with my youngest daughter, Lenny played with the trio in my stead) (Wish I'd been there to see THAT!)
Influences: I stand upon the shoulders of Aaron Copeland, Serge Prokofiev and Pyotr Tchaikovsky.
The dawning of the North American and European New Age/Jazz Fusion of the early 70's.
Celtic, Middle Eastern and African influences.
Classical and some melodic post modernist classical.
Forty plus years of Rock, Funkiness and Chamber Jazz.
Notable releases such as Return To Forever's "Romantic Warrior".
Pat Metheny and Lyle Mays. "As Wichita Falls"
Harpist Andreas Vollenweider's first release "Behind the Gardens".
And of course, all things ECM.
I AM ADDING ANOTHER COMPOSER TO MY LIST OF "MOST NOTABLES".
The music of ROINE SANGENBERG found here on my "friends list".
Take a moment and enjoy his gifts.
My all time favorite group would be Oregon.
Influences in my drumming:
Trilok Gurtu, Nana Vasconcelos, Dave Weckl, Vinnie Colaiuta, Collin Walcott, Lenny White and Steve Gadd.
Sounds Like: Visual, stream of consciousness... Heartland Americana with World Influences. Spontaneous, Improvisational and Meditative... Acoustic/Electronic.
Record Label: Unsigned....Pangaea Music/GKH
Type of Label: Indie
