The Sexual Assault Crisis Agency (SACA) has provided caring and compassionate sexual abuse crisis intervention and prevention since 1975.
SACA’s mission is to provide caring support and advocacy for all survivors of sexual assault and their significant others, and to work toward the elimination of rape and sexual assault by raising community awareness and providing prevention education.
The only rape crisis center serving the South Bay, Harbor and Greater Long Beach areas of Los Angeles County, SACA offers a 24 hour crisis hotline, Sexual Assault Response Team and counseling and support for survivors of sexual assault or adult/teens molested as children. Our extensive prevention education program raises awareness of sexual and gender based violence and helps develop community solutions in schools, colleges and for community groups.
All of SACA’s services are offered free of charge, and all are available in English, Spanish, and ASL. Services are designed to be culturally sensitive, and to meet the needs of women, men, and teen survivors (age 13 and up) who have experienced any form of sexual violence. We also offer educational and supportive services to the friends and family members of survivors, so that they may better assist their loved ones through crisis.
SACA depends significantly on community support. Our 24-hour hotline is staffed by highly trained volunteers and community donations provide 25% of operating revenue.
