About Me

"Two roads diverged in a wood, and I- I took the one less traveled by, And that has made all the difference. " -Robert FrostA dichotomy of beliefs. I think that a woman can be a anything she puts her mind to. Alluding to South Pacific, "You gotta have a dream, or how you gonna have a dream come true?" I believe in raising your voice and making a difference. I sing in the shower and louder in the car. I enjoy listening to people's stories and am fascinated in particular by those who have a true joie de vivre, or, joy of life. I love learning new things about different cultures and places because I honestly don't think you're ever too old to learn something new and that you're only too young when you are arrogant enough to believe you know everything. :) I like to surround myself with positive people who strive to achieve their goals and don't like to waste my time around those who don't dare to dream big. Please don't misconstrue this and equate this with money, because it's not all about that. It's about wanting to be the best you can be and being successful in that sense. I am very rarely circumspect and don't have much patience for people who are.

My Interests

I have traveled to every continent except Antarctica. I love the theater and good live music, shopping (I am a girl, afterall), traveling, scrapbooking, coffee and time with my girlfriends, having dinner parties and karaoke with friends at home, and a good sports game. I am a HUGE baseball fan (Chicago Cubs first, SF Giants 2 nd). Someday, my Cubbies will win the penant.

Music:

Depeche Mode to Kenny G. U2 to Shirley Bassey and Carole King. Usher to Norah Jones and Garth Brooks to Motley Crue. The Pet Shop Boys, James Taylor, Erasure, Mike Francis, The Smothers Brothers, David Pomeranz, Basia, Savage Garden, Billy Joel, James Ingram, Alicia Keys, YoYo Ma, Barbra Streisand, Journey, Chicago, BTO, Grand Funk Railroad, The Guess Who, Eric Clapton, Marvin Gaye, Dusty Springfield, The Beach Boys, Bob Dylan, Johnny Hates Jazz, Marc Cohn, Dean Martin and Frankie, Madonna. I love lyrics and so that's probably why I like a variety of music. I can watch Grease, West Side Story and Miss Saigon and still wax nostalgic when I hear a Bon Jovi or Cure song. Music inspires me, reminds me and soothes me.

Television:

I usually just watch late at night since I'm an insomniac so basically whatever is on in terms of reruns or documentaries depending on any given night. Some I like are: Sex and the City reruns, Digging for the Truth on the History Channel, Generation Renovation and Divine Design on HGTV, Oprah reruns, Hannity and Combs, old Threes Company and Laverne and Shirley and Little House or Bonanza episodes, Law and Order and CSI, Dog the Bounty Hunter, Seinfeld and ER. I am a news junkie and documentary person by nature but once in awhile I like to watch things that just make me laugh or require no neurons like Dr. 90210 or Growing Up Gotti (Don't laugh-it's so ridiculous it's funny sometimes).
