HISTORY!!!
2004: the very beginning

In the middle of 2004 Marcos (vocals) and Leandro (guit), both involved in other projects that time, decided to form a band with the intend of just uniting good friends to play their most favorite music, Heavy Metal! Initially the band had the name "Ilion", which already included Eddie França on the second guitar! But this project never left the draft status, because it was still missing the "rhythm section", bass and drums. Two years passed and Leandro and Marcus tried to arouse the old Ilion project from its Sleeping Beauty slumber with new ideas! This was the very beginning of EGREGORIAN as we know it today. Now the two friends only needed a second guitar, bass and drums. Renato, also a member of the poprock band, where Leandro was playing that time, was "contracted" for the post of the drummer. Because of a lack of time Eddie couldn't join the band these days, so Fabio (Animus Necandi) was called for filling this vacancy. But he soon left the band again, setting his priorities on his other projects. Some weeks later Eddie finally returned to the band, now was just missing a bassist, which was soon found in Thiago B. (Ex-Nomin, Burning Heart, Triunfo).
2006: time for changes
The 5 friends kept rehearsing covers for some time, but soon they noticed, that something was still missing in the sound of the band ... that was a keyboard! Through an ad on the Bahiarock website, Uwe, a keyboardist, got interested in the band and finally the first line-up of EGREGORIAN was completed. When everything seemed to work fine, Thiago decided to leave the band. It was a big loss but also a challenge to substitute Thiago’s place. However, the guys made it and invited Celso, a bassist, which Uwe already knew from a band of a friend.
2007: the first live shows
After some months of rehearsing EGREGORIAN played the first 2 shows in the mid of 2007. Uwe noticed then, that he didn't want to play live shows anymore and left the band, setting his concentration on the work in his studio, where also the first "working demo" of Egregorian, "Praised Sun", was produced and recorded. the demo was released in october. end of this year Renato was substituted through Thiago on the drummer position.
2008: a great success and almost the end
At the beginning of 2008 the 2nd guitarist Eddie left the band and EGREGORIAN decided to keep the line-up with just one guitar! the band participated on the MANIAC METAL FIGHT III, the most important contest for rock bands in Bahia, and reached a second place in the final. Short time after this great success vocalist Marcos and also drummer Thiago left the band. most of the fans will fear now, that is the end of EGREGORIAN. but Leandro and Celso will have some big surprises for all the true fans in the near future, stay tuned!!!
