About Me

I'm Mike Simons. I make up songs that move people. I like to move people. A lot. When people get moved it gives me a lot of pleasure because they feel things. That's when I know they have been moved. Really! You know when I make up a song, like say "Poop Shoot", I get moved too. Another words, I feel something very strong. Sometimes I feel happy. Sometimes I feel gleeful. Sometimes I get riled up. Sometimes I just feel a little sick. If you have never seen me make up songs, then you do not know what it's like. You might be lucky. It depends more on you than me. I like to make up songs. Sometimes I make up songs and sing them in Portuguese because I speak Portuguese. I guess that makes me a renaissance man. If you don't like the renaissance, you might still like me. I would not know.

Influences: I have been an influence on so many artists. It's hard to count. Clay Aiken counts me as a major force in the developement of his considerable success. Additionally, Kenny G's musical journey has been stimulated again and again through my teachings. Others include Creed, Diamond Lou, Dave Matthews and Olivia Newton John. I do not want to toot my on horn, but many lay people as well have felt my breath as a force in their lives. Britt Reid has often given me credit for his turn around. Woody Allen says I am his moral compass. John Walker Lynn called me "inspiring".
