Exstasia is a 24 year old producer and electronic artist from Manchester UK. A self taught musician, Exstasia has always been passionate about music. She began writing and recording music at the age of 13 for piano and guitar and was massively into the whole Manchester Brit-Pop scene. “I even had a union jack guitar and was legendary amongst my friends for getting sing-songs started at parties, bonfires, BBQs…anywhere!â€
It wasn’t until about 2000 that Exstasia began to like dance music. “My sister was at Bournemouth university and kept bringing CDs home from the Opera House. I heard her listening to them in her room and thought, “I love what she’s playing!†and so my passion for dance music was born! Armin, Ferry Corsten, Matt Darey and Paul Van Dyk were my particular favourites - I couldn’t get enough. Soon I found myself putting down the guitar and writing dance tracks on a synthesiser and PC, anything that would let me write dance music!"
As the years passed Exstasia found herself working her way up in her day job in the legal profession and got to the point where she was being offered the opportunity to become a solicitor. “It was at this I realised that I just wasn’t happy and that if I chose to take this route then I would be doing something that I didn‘t really like for the rest of my life. My heart always has and always will lie in making musicâ€
So in 2006, Exstasia left her job to start a degree in Sound Engineering and Design and to concentrate on making music and pursuing a career in sound and music. She has not looked back since. “Now instead of playing the guitar, I get out my laptop and synths and do live DJ mixes and sessions - popping in a few of my own songs. I have also done some special gigs like Marbella Feria, Spain in June of this year - which went down a treat!
Exstasia’s debut album is to go into the studio this September for mixing and mastering. Previews of 4 of the tracks are up here for you to listen to.
"I hope you enjoy them!"
