David-Bass of Aztek Sun

Dave - Bass.Got my first bass at the age of 14 and started playing in various local bands. The main reason it became bass was probably that I had noticed that in most bands the coolest guy was the bassplayer (Nikki Sixx, Gene Simmons, Cliff Burton, Rachel Bolan, Blackie Lawless…). In 93 I got the offer to lay the basstracks on Nasty Idols guitarist Peter Espinozas instrumental solorecord. Halfway through the songwritingprocess both Peter & I quit our other bands and scrapped the instrumental plans. We got a singer and drummer and started writing new material. We took the name “Espinoza” in lack of better suggestions. We released one album, did a Scandinavian support tour with Yngwie and contributed with one track on a Thin Lizzy tribute-album before it all fell apart. Three unreleased tracks later ended up on singer Paul Allens project Original Sins album “Temptation”. Founding both of ourselves out of bands me & my blood brother Krille Ohlsson started what would later become Aztek Sun. We teamed up with singer Magnus Möller and with drummer Brian Peterson the lineup was complete. Aztek has recorded one album “Brand New Breath” (todate unreleased) and done some kickass shows…Only the future know where it will end.
