Elegi

About Me

Elegi burned with an intense flame for one and half year during 1980 and 1981. A wide range of different musical and cultural influences was mixed and energized by the vibrating new wave atmosphere in Stockholm of those days and by the chemistry within the band.
Elegi recorded one album Elegi . You can hear the complete album on the player above. Two more songs were later on released on the cassette Mun-mot-mun-metoden, a compilation of bands connected to the independent label Slick (Musiklaget). The song Mat was a minor hit in the Swedish new wave community, and has apperead on several compilations of Swedish punk and new wave music.
Elegi played a number of gigs in Stockholm as well in other a parts of Sweden. A first tour, together with Swedish new wave collegues Hjärnstorm, went to southern part of Sweden and to Copenhagen. A second tour, together with the English band the Passions, went to various Swedish cities as well as to Oslo in Norway.
