THE TRAIN is a tune I wrote because I wanted to play something with my classical guitar and I wanted it to sound like some kind of sountrack or soundscape. In addition, I like to play weird meters, like the 5/4 of this tune.
I recorded RING OF FIRE for a Johnny Cash' covers contest. The original version is in G major but I turned it in E minor and, instead of the mariachi flavour of the original version, I looked for a quiet and large atmosphere, like cowboys talking around a campfire in the desert (wow!). I also wanted to play slide guitar though I'm not so good at it. I didn't win the contest.
