BUDDY KNOX.. a Tamworth based blues artist, BEST NEW TALENT at the 2009 Australian Blues Music Awards...and who always delivers a boot smokin' rhythm & blues and soul review.....a show to shock and amaze ya'! and with a return to the Band presentation of bygone days, Buddy is charming his audiences at every outing........... his performances are dynamic, energetic but respectful to the genre,
Buddy's hasn't got the blues....The Blues have got him! FESTIVALS: Tamworth 2007/08/09 The Dreaming Festival 2008/09 Yabun Sydney 2008 the Cutting Edge Beer n Wine Festival Wagga Jazz and Blues 2008 Goulburn Blues Festival 2009 Byron Bay BLUESFEST 2009 but with a musical history of over two decades backing his Father Roger nationally and overseas, ten years of playing guitar with the Deadly Warumpi Band, he's not stage shy.
What is the biggest audience Buddy has played guitar for,???? "around 35,000" he says quietly, at a Big Day Out Tour with Warumpi.
Buddy is so excited to now have his debut album, released in January 2008, which GAINED FINALIST NOMINATIONS in three categories in the CHAINS AWARDS, BUDDY won BEST NEW BLUES TALENT and also to be on the artist lineup at the 2009 BLUESFEST at Byron Bay
he's smokin' his own boots too!
"Buddy was deadly", said Sydney radio DJ Pearl, after witnessing his festival performance at Woodford, "I'd love to see him again!!"
Also seen enjoying Buddy's performance was George Negus, in the Dreaming audience at Woodford, 2008.
.........Despite his musical adventures, his heart is never too far away from Toomelah where he lived his early childhood years as a young and adventurous kid!!
But he expects his band to "GO HARD OR GO HOME" and his fans are never disappointed
Buddy has definitively 'got da blues' playing his 335 Gibson, and singing the blues with amazing soul...renowned for his deadly talent and ability to play authentic blues guitar!
Buddy's career has seen him play with many greats like his Father Roger Knox 'Euraba', Troy Cassar Daley, Paul Kelly, Brian Young, Lionel Rose to name just a few. Buddy has played guitar at many "BIG HOUSES" (Correctional Centres!!) including Mulawa, Silverwater, and also in Canada on a national tour in the Canadian prison System.
This tour also included a performance at the Nashville Cultural Fair.
In 1990-1991 Buddy toured with Brian Young and Troy Cassar Daley.
Over a Ten year period 1991-2001 Buddy played lead guitar and sang backing vocals with the 'Warumpi' Band.
