Heavy Metal is our means to celebrate life. Possibly the best answer to the very reason of Skeletor's existence. Music is a daily need to sustain, Metal makes life a feast. That is what unites the members: a shared passion for music in general and Metal in particular.
With their emphasis on a solid groove and technical details, one can hear the love for thrash and swedish nineties deathmetal. CARCASS and AT THE GATESrank among the first bands that Skeletor brings to mind.
Skeletor is hailing from Wageningen, Netherlands. It started as a side-project of housemates Bas and Jurriaan, who both already played in various other bands. Like-minded people were found in Bram and Niek, who joined forces in 2004. Slowly but very steadily they wrote most of the material for their first EP. After some struggle to find a capable second guitarist, Tymon accepted the offer and joined the band in 2006; the release of the first EP was shortly thereafter.
Due to Tymon's occupation with CYNIC, he was no longer available to play in Skeletor. Jurriaan was forced to leave to pursue his studies. They were replaced by Ingmar (ex-WARCHITECT) and ARNOLD (DEVIOUS, LOCK&LOAD). Skeletor is currently recording their first full-length album, including some re-releases of earlier songs from their 2006 EP.
