"Brilliant performance! Rhonda and the Ravers captivated the audience from start to finish. I would like to make up 1950s activities just to have them back." - John Ingram, Visitor Programmes Co-ordinator,Otago Settlers Museum
Fantastic harmonies, wonderful choreography, fabulous outfits, sequins and bling - plus a conviction that afternoon tea and keeping up standards are important - that's Rhonda and the Ravers. New Zealand's most gorgeous a cappella group is living proof that the best songs were written in the 50s and 60s. Rhonda and the Ravers have been guests at the Wellington, Cardrona and Whare Flat folk festivals and perform at parties and weddings.
Concerts
Rhonda and the Ravers concerts are characterised by strong performances of familiar songs, presented in four-part harmony without any musical accompaniment but with strong choreographic elements and distinctive costuming. The group can offer 40 - 45 minute concerts, or shorter concert spots, of songs, interspersed with humorous "handy hints", various comic elements and some audience involvement. The Ravers' style is 50s/60s in every way possible.
Workshops
Rhonda and the Ravers' workshops are about teaching songs with full harmonies and hand actions or choreography. On occasions, the workshops are more interactive, involving devising actions or choreography together. The Ravers like to invite participants to be temporary "honorary Ravers", dress appropriately where possible and perform the workshopped song with them on stage at a subsequent concert.
