About Me

My life - the (sorta) quick version:I grew up just north of NYC. We had deer in the backyard but were still under an hour to midtown, Yankee Stadium, etc. I dug it, but didn't realize how cool that really was until later...Went to college in upstate/western NY. Met some amazing people, did some swimming, played some baseball, played Ultimate, DJ'd until they kicked me off the air, drank a beer, bull moose, 12 North, started teaching snowboarding at the local hill and really got in to it, interned at C-Span in DC before Senior year - met amazing people and realized DC wasn't as "stuffy" as I thought it was.Took a year off after college and taught snowboarding at Heavenly in Lake Tahoe. Wow. Life changing. Big mountains, powder, mmmmmm....powder.Somehow made my way back to the east coast for grad school in DC. Met more amazing people - 1828! and I met my future wife in Heaven (seriously, Heaven nightclub on 18th st.). Worked for a Democratic political consulting firm on Pennsylvania Ave 2 blocks from the White House for a year - kinda neat...but missing real mountains...Moved to San Francisco to keep working in Democratic politics but also be closer to Tahoe. We loved SF but started spending more and more time in Tahoe and decided that's where we wanted to live...Moved to Tahoe in Fall of 2001 and have been here since...started First Tracks Productions soon thereafter with a focus on making an annual snowboarding video. We've been doing that every year but have expanded and have done documentaries, commericals, and promotional videos.I miss my friends and family that are too many miles away and am constantly craving the greasy, floppy, NY pizza that you just can't find off the east coast.I've driven cross-country 7 times, own a bunch of suits I hope never to wear again, still eat cereal for breakfast, and need 2 feet of fresh on a regular basis. If you have any questions, comments, or witty insults, hit me up. If you have access to good pizza, please send some. Thanks.Oh yeah, back to the shameless promotion...if you dig the video clips you see, you can pick up copies of our flicks with free shipping/no tax on our site: First Tracks Productionspeace, acA Dry Year: The Patch - Angora Fire
