I was born February 2, 1965 to two of the most wonderful parents possible. My childhood was blessed.On September 4, 1992 I married Bill Lucas. On July 13, 1993 we had our son Willy (talk about a honeymoon baby!) He is such a wonderful young man (15 now). 6 foot 3! He looks just like his daddy but has my personality (thank you Lord!)On March 11, 1996 our daughter, Shelby, entered our life. She was such a beautiful baby! Jet black hair and lots of it! She's 12 now...looks just like me and acts just like her daddy (my worst nightmare!) When Shelby was 7 she was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes. This is such an unfair disease (not that any disease is fair). We struggle daily trying to control her blood sugar. She takes SEVERAL shots daily. She's strong though. She gives herself the shots. It breaks my heart every time I see her raise her shirt and have to stick that needle into her belly. So unfair.Bill and I both grew up in Oldham County, Kentucky. When my dad retired from the Louisville Police Department my parents moved to Panama City Beach, Florida (WHOO-HOO0OO!). LOVE IT! In 2005, Bill and I got a wild hair and moved us there,too! We even talked our best friend, Amy, into UPROOTING her life and move there also. (Sorry Amy!) The reason I apologize is because we packed up and moved back to Kentucky. Amy didn't. Poor Amy was stuck there in Florida with all that sand, sun and surf. And my parents, of course. And they took wonderful care of her. She's family now! We love her! But we got her back to Kentucky! She'll probably never trust me again!Anyway...we are all back in Kentucky now. We've bought a house in Smithfield, KY. Amy's here with us. We are fixing the apartment up above the garage for her to live in (if she survives the torment of Willy...remember he's 14 and Amy has big boobs...you can only imagine.)
