About Me

I'm a musician and grad student (read as: poor!) living in Astoria. I'm trying to put together some cool networking events for young arts professionals such as myself--events that will take place in the old-fashioned social networking site: reality!

My Interests

LIKES: Music, psychology, reading books, writing plays, performance art, laughing at others, laughing at myself, running, walking, working out with the one dumbell I own, telling funny stoner ben stories, practical jokes, the half door, MO'S MIDTOWN, linen pants, funky watches, telling those same stories again, good movies, bad movies (i.e. 'dolemite the human tornado), reinventing myself as a pretentious british new wave frontman, farfetched ideas, unfeasible solutions, tenuous conclusions. DISLIKES: Music 'magazines" such as 'Blender,' political 'commentators' such as Ann Coulter, arrogant people that aren't me, planes, SUV's, underwear, the E! channel, the Bush administration (obviously), Exxon-Mobile, Nancy Grace, fake hippies, extreme conservatives, extreme liberals, catchphrases, movie quotes, steve miller band, all things emo, fear, ignorance, jealously, and idleness.

I'd like to meet:

Anyone that won't make me repost bulletins to be their friend!!! Man, I've lost sooooooo many friends that way...

Music:

Movies:

If it's disturbingly honest, unabashedly bold, utterly ridiculous, or beautifully human I'll enjoy it.

Television:

Daily Show and Colbert Report, and The History Channel for general ambience.

Books:

Summer reading for Scotty B: Leo Tolstoy short stories, Buzzmarketing by Mike Hughes, 48 Laws of Power, "You've Got To Read This!" short story anthology, Mother Tongue (history of language), various biographies of anyone influential or insane, and lots of psychology journals. And sometimes I spend hours at Border's and read a few pages of everything I see. And other times, I write my own stuff!

Heroes:

Mike Straus...and now he's my classmate.

Bad luck? or just HARTFORD?

Now, I'm not one to complain about my lot in life; in fact, I can't stand hearing people bitch and moan about petty concerns.  However, I feel obliged to comment that it must be nice to have the ...
