About Me

Bad Nation has been around since 1998 originally named Sungmanitu Ska in the late 80's to mid 90's. In 1998 we were formed by the Zephier brothers at a powwow in Bellingham Washinton where we served as host drum. Though we proudly represent the Hunkpati Dakota Nation we consist of many different singers in the U.S and Canada. We have travelled throughout the U.S and Canada serving as host or invite for many powwow committee's. As of today we have a total of 4 recordings and working on number 5. We are proud and honored that we have been chosen to be a stepping stone for many young drum groups, we wish them the best of luck. We encourage everyone to learn and sing our songs, Aho Hecetu.

Influences: First of all thank Tunkasina for providing us with the ability to sing and knowledge of the songs. The biggest influences would have to be our mom and dad, Clark and Pauline Zephier for always being there with encouraging words and wisdom. Our Grandma Buck for providing us with our first drum. Our Lala Wayne Two Hawks for showing us the way of a singer, without them we would not be where we are today. Porcupine, Eyabay, Blacklodge, Blackstone, Stoney Park, Chiniki Lake, Whitefish Jrs just to name a few drum groups.
