I am here for Friends and Networking

About Me

Hello everybody. My name is Joe Knobbe, and I am 18 years old. I went to high school at St. John the Baptist College Prep until the end of my Junior year, when the school got shut down. I then went to Bishop Dubourg for my Senior year. I'm now heading to the Broadcast Center for a degree in Film/Digital Video Editing, then possibly getting a side degree in Business later on.
I started this company in August of 2007. My first hands on experience with film was in Winter 2005 when my friends and I had to make a video project for our Freshmen Theology Class. We called it Bible Wars and it was the story of Moses and the Ten Commandments, with a modern Star Wars twist, hence the name Bible Wars.
My next big film project was in Fall 2006 when I begun helping out and sometimes participating in a Jackass Crew my friends had formed. I would film the stunts and then edit it. This was my first major experience with video editing, and I excelled very quickly. At that time, I had a single JVC 40GB HDD Camcorder and I used Nero 7 for editing and producing. We then made copies of the hour long film and sold it for $5 to friends and random fans. We only sold about 20 copies.
As life continued I went into more hands on projects and began trying some simple solo creations, such as stop motion. At that time, I purchased a band new Sony 60GB HDD Handycam with Widescreen recording and Nightvision, worth $1300. I also bought Abobe Creative Master Suite CS3 worth $2500. Soon after that, in April of 2007, I was requested by the St. Louis local band, Harlot, to film a show of theirs and add it to our Jackass DVD. After filming them, I realized how much I enjoyed working a Camera at a live show, and began recording Harlot multiple times. I even recorded them open for National Acts, Funeral For A Friend, Alexisonfire, Fightstar, and Emanuel.
Then later in the summer, Harlot lost a guitarist, and later broke up completely. Realizing that they will be no more, I began searching for new bands to film. On the night of Harlot's last show, Pwnfest 2007, I recorded local band Machree, for it was their first show. From there I formed JK Productions and set out to work with bands, and help them in anyway possible with their video needs. We are also for hire for any other film needs, whether it be a short movie, an event, or just a important date.
As of April of 2008, JK Productions now films in Widescreen view, and uses two High Definition JVC Everio Camera's and the single Sony Handycam we have been using for a year now. This gives us a Venue Cam, Stage Cam, and Drum Cam. All camera angles are used in syncing and mixing the video.
In the beginning of November 2008, JK Productions was struck with a major set back. All 3 current cameras and our brand new Stereo Microphone were stolen. A Police Report was filed but nothing has yet to come up. With a major debt and shows scheduled every weekend for the rest of 2008, we were up against the wall.
Luckily, we stumbled upon a $3,000 loan and were able to purchase 3 new JVC Everio HD Cameras, as well as 2 new Stereo Microphones. Although we did not have to cancel any shows, we still have to pay back the debt.
JK Productions and myself show no signs of stopping, and will hopefully grow in time. The more shows we film, the more equipment we will be able to afford. So help us out, and let us work for you. Thanks.
