Yosh - The Underground Beatmaker - (NEWS)

Deriving from Cacém, Yosh, The Underground Beatmaker begins his activity as a DJ (Freelancer) in 1995. His taste for RAP and for Dance Music, which was being heard at the time, turned a joke at his School Radio into a reality. In 1997, along with Kamala, Kacetado, XCall, Alkahfla, Songo & Weazzel, he brought to life a project called “Locomotion Crew” and a taste for production. Still in the same year, Yosh and Kacetado form a pair called K.A. – Kombinação Assassina (Killer Combo). In 1998 Yosh, “steps away” from the whole Hip-Hop scene, in matters of djing and production, and begins his act in Dance Music, exploring every single aspect of it, from Tecno to Jungle. Later on, in 2003 he had a chance to be resident in a club, where he could play anything, from RAP to Soul, therefore being taken to his origins as a DJ. In that same club, a year later, he meets Camuflados MC’s (MC Vipe & Purfaz), also living in Cacém, and ends up joining the group. 2004 is the year where he decides to take production, that he had as a hobbie, seriously and take it to a new level and make a stand as a producer. Between 2005 and 2006 he was working in his first compilation, a project intended to “represent” his crew, The CPK (Crime Productions Krew), and to reveal his talent as a producer. He also used this compilation to give voice to some good MC’s which where “hiding” in Cacém and nearby. The CPK – The Crime Productions Krew – “O Outro Lado Do Crime” (The Other Side Of Crime”, is an album containing only original Yosh songs, featuring Big Kriz, Drulo, Vânia, Peste, Natho MC, Mandela, Camuflados MC’s, Golliaz a.k.a Kanellas, Mb, Kapella, Kara Pi, Alkhafla & Mike. This album will be in the streets still this year. Meanwhile, he produced for Natho. These are some of the people he worked with: Natho(www.myspace.com/nathoral), Geny (www.myspace.com/genyyyyyyy), Kapella, Doutos Tipos(www.myspace.com/doutostipos), Drulo, Big M a.k.a Casanova(www.myspace.com/casanovarnbprince), Loreta Kba, Djau e Golliaz. At the moment he is bringing to life his first álbum of instrumentals, intitled “ Yosh – The Underground Beatmaker”, which is the result of all his years of experience, hard work and musical culture. Also influenced by several musicians from various musical genres, Yosh, produces a little bit of everything… From Underground to Crunk, from Reggae to Bounce, Ragga, 2 Step, R’n’B, are integrating styles of what he does. Production techniques...He places his bet in drums and well-built melodies, from the bottom, but he doesn’t leave aside that, which has always been a “brute weapon” of every producer and beatmaker…Sampling! At the age of 27, Yosh, tries to get recognition with his work in the whole Hip-Hop panorama in Portugal, with the purpose of getting a chance to work with the best artists, in a national and international level.
