About Me

i live in longview, tx, and i work at heartlight ministries. i lived in house for 2 years with some amazing girls who i am hoping to keep in touch with by using this! i am working on my masters in counseling at UT Tyler and still have about 2 years to go. i am a proud aunt of 6 nephews including the newest addition...jacob, born 9/29/06. i live with my buddy amanda and my golden retriever, riley. i am originally from a small town outside of buffalo, ny...i still love ny but i do have dreams of becoming a real texan cowgirl. :) i love watching sports but am not so good at playing them. i love spending time with family and friends, and wish they all lived within a 2 hour radius of longview...is that too much to ask? i am definitely addicted to coffee but i'm ok with that... My Interests

random things...I guess I spend most of my time studying counseling info lately. I like watching sports...especially hockey and football...go sabres and bills!! I am also pulling for the razorbacks and the colts this year. Peyton Manning is my HERO. I do predict that the Sabres are going to win it all this year. I want to be a good guitar player some day but am only a beginner right now. I like dogs...especially my dog Riley! I love to go to starbucks and talk and read. I like riding horses, sleeping, pictures, the sun, steak, mighty taco (a western new york specialty), chocolate, coffee, italy (especially venice) and germany, taking the jetta on road trips, listening to live music...

I'd like to meet:

Elvis! James Dean, Frank Sinatra, Billy Graham, my grandpa, Beth Moore. I think this is really referring to who I want to meet on myspace but that was more fun. I mostly want to use this to make up for what a slacker I am at keeping up with people...staff and kids from heartlight, and old friends from buffalo and cedarville that i haven't talked to in a while.

Music:

i like a lot of different things...snow patrol is probably my current favorite...boston, the eagles, journey, chicago, the beatles, rascall flatts, keith urban, dierks bentley, pat green, reckless kelly, dixie chicks, carrie underwood, kelly clarkson, creed, howie day, dave barnes, matt wertz, the fray, goo goo dolls, counting crows, switchfoot, bon jovi, and pretty much any love song from the 80's and early 90's. i grew up on contemporary christian and still like a lot of it...especially dc talk, jars of clay, newsboys, michael w smith, caedmon's call, third day, casting crowns...i love all kinds of worship music...from more modern praise songs to hymns and even some good old southern gospel and quartets. and of course my good friend arianne patty...if you live in the dfw area you should definitely go to one of her shows sometime...she is A-mazing!

Movies:

I am not good at picking favorites...I like old movies, especially ones with Frank Sinatra. Some all time favorites are Gone With The Wind, Star Wars (i know, i know), the Lion King, Aladdin. I do appreciate chick flicks...the Wedding Planner, How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days, A Walk to Remember, Save the Last Dance, Hitch, Coyote Ugly, Notting Hill, Pride and Prejudice, Ever After, Runaway Bride, etc. Wayne's World, Tommy Boy, Just Married, Dumb and Dumber...make me laugh even though I've seen them a million times. I also always enjoy a good suspense or action movie, or just a good story...Kingdom of Heaven, Braveheart, the Patriot, Don't Say a Word, A Time to Kill, A Few Good Men, Remember the Titans...the list goes on and on.

Television:

I don't get to watch tv much, but i always make time for gray's anatomy. 24...Jack Bauer is amazing. I have to admit I do get sucked in to some reality tv...American Idol, The Amazing Race, Survivor. Sportscenter, football games, I am trying to watch the news more so I know what's going on in the world. Classics are the Wonder Years, the Cosby Show, Full House, Saved by the Bell, Boy Meets World, Growing Pains, Perfect Strangers.

Books:

i love to read and wish i had more time to do it...redeeming love and the mark of the lion series by francine rivers, gone with the wind, and pride and prejudice are probably my all time favorite novels so far...i like reading beth moore, larry crabb, donald miller, cs lewis, john eldredge, and any other books that make me think and encourage me to pursue God more passionately. of course the Bible...keeps me going and has taught me the most important things i know. i like reading most of the books i read for school, but would probably enjoy it more if i could take my time...but i do like to learn, and those who know me best know i am kind of a nerd. :)
