About Me

I operate a privately owned recording/mastering facility(SEE MY PICS) adjacent to my home just west of Nashville,TN. We have been here since 1996. My keyboard arsonal consists of: A Kawai Grand Piano , 1956 Hammond B-3 organ w/122 Leslie, Wurlitzer blonde 140B Electric Piano, Kurzweil K2500X, Hammond XK-2, Alesis QS-7, Yamaha DX-7, and numerous Analog Synthesizers. We also have great microphone selection. -(over 30 condensers) and many, many dynamics. My favorite part of the recording process is arranging vocal harmonies, and orchestral pads. I am a keyboard player, audio engineer, and producer, specializing in Rock, Blues, Funk,R&B,& Country. I also play blues harmonica, and mandolin. I love Bluegrass and traditional mountain music. I have toured with numerous artists throughout the United States, Canada, and Japan over the past twenty-some years. I no longer travel, but still freelance local-regional venues, recording sessions, and an occasional out of town show. Here at Studio 100 we build some of our audio equipment, and are now in the process of manufacturing hand built, hand wired vacuum tube, optical compressors (much like the LA-2A) utilizing Sowter and Jenson transformers. I am using some prototypes(see my PICS) in my room now and they sound extraordinary. You just have to here them on vocals, drums, bass, etc. They are hand-built by my father Ray Carlisle. Ray is also now designing tube Mic -Pre's W/48vdc phantom. He is a veteran folk musician/songwriter/audio engineer/design engineer. You can here some of his songs here:http://www.brownbarn.com/music/ or go to http://www.myspace.com/raycarlisle
