Project Sisyphus

About Me

Would you like the idea of Bach done as a hoedown? Coldplay performing the “Chicken Dance” at a wedding? No, of course not. These are the regrettable ideas of Project Sisyphus—a deranged muscial creation from session keyboardist/producer Bob Emmet, who was looking for new ways to lose money between gigs. Featuring a growing assortment of singers (none ever seem to want to come back), the first CD, “Finding Emo” was completed in September of 2007. For reasons nobody can explain, the first single, “Me And You And A Dog Snafu” has been featured on Dr. Demento and debuted at 5 on Dave Tanny’s Dementia Top 20 podcast. Unfortunately, other releases are bound to follow.

The music consists of a mix of song parodies from oldies to newies, a smattering of originals, and a few badly-planned skits. And if that hasn’t rasied your personal terror level, hang on: the band is currently composing music for the upcoming skate-spectaular revue “Taliban On Ice.”

Band Members: I'm not sure we're really a "band", but contributing voices include Cari Golden, Taylor Dexter, Fino Roverato and Wally Wingert. Those are the ones still speaking to me, anyway.
Influences: Bob Rivers, Tom Lehrer, Ray Stevens, Weird Al, Spaff.com, PDQ Bach, to name a few.
Sounds Like: Pretty much all the overplayed shlock you've been hearing for the last several decades. We try to cover a variety of musical styles and eras—so no matter what your age or background, something here is guaranteed to offend you.
Record Label: are you kidding?
