But my love for the art grew and I stuck with it. Over time I gained a little name around the county as that stupid fuckin' whiteboy who rhymes and continued honing my craft. Shortly thereafter I was exposed to the hip-hop underground via the Stretch & Bobbito radio show. Emulating groups like Co Flow and The Juggaknots I pushed myself to be a lyrical monster. Dropping dope shit while exposing my intelligence at the same time. Long story short I hit a speedbump and wound up in jail, details not necessary.
Upon release I approached a different aspect of the music. Straightening myself out and getting into school I made up my mind to get the fuck out of my one horse town. I went to college near Paterson, NJ for music journalism. Postponing my own musical career I became engrossed in the study of the art. I was determined to become a famous journalist for The Source or the now defunct Rap Pages and bring the underground to the mainstream and force the masses to accept it. Then the drinking started...
Needless to say I found myself back in Sullivan County, NY with a DWI under my belt and alot of bitterness inside. The year was now 2000 and I hooked up with Chester Greenthumb and Wasted Talent and formed The Pencil Pushers (Erased: Coming Soon). Refocused on my own career (but not putting the drink down), I wrote like a madman. Amidst various fast women, overly expensive drug experimentation and a million and one sheets of notebook paper I created quite a legacy under the moniker of Foulmouth.
In 2002 I released my first demo "Dirty Wordz 4 Filthy Mindz". I was in a phase where I replaced every s with a z at the time, I dunno. Anywayz, in 2005 I released my first full length LP "Mental Gingivitis". Self produced and recorded it was a rough around the edges (self-proclaimed) masterpiece. In 2007 I joined Bad Karma Entertainment (R.I.P.) and completed my first studio recorded release "Mental Floss". In between these I worked on various side projects, collabos and unreleased material soon to be gathered and released in one definitive collection.
In 2008 I'm booking shows and slowly building my empire. We shall see what the future holds...
"When the green field comes off like a lidRevealing what was much better hid,Unpleasant; And look! Behind, without a soundThe woods have come up and are standing roundIn deadly crescent. And the bolt is sliding in its groove,Outside the window is the black removers van,And now with sudden, swift emergenceCome the women in dark glasses, the hump-backed surgeonsAnd the scissor man."
W.H. Auden - The Witnesses
"I fell into the most terrible of all dreams - that joyous one in which all past evil has not only been wiped out of our lives, but has never been committed; and in the very bliss of our assured innocence, before our loves shriek and change countenance, we wake to the day we have earned."
-Rudyard Kipling
