We have been rescuing kitties from shelters who either gas or give them injections so they have a chance at some kind of life in this world. We strongly believe our mission right now is to save kitties. We always rely on God to direct our steps. Sometimes when think we can't save them, God finds a way for us so we know we are doing the right thing. These are God's creatures and should be taken care of as such. Our hearts break because of all the injustice that are done to the animals in this world. We have named our Rescue, Heaven Sent Kitties because all of the kitties that we save are Heaven Sent and we give God all the glory for what He allows us to do. We thank you for visiting our page and hope you enjoy all the kitties that we have been able to save.

Our first trip was saving Daffy and the Gang at Northeast Georgia Animal Shelter in Georgia. Initially we were going to just save Daffy, but we looked at their little faces and just could not leave them there to be killed.

Here is Daffy. He is such a character. He's energetic and so very loving. He always wants to be loved. He purrs and purrs and purrs and purrs.

Baby Jade we saw sitting all alone in her corner of the cage. When they came near her she would ball up as to hide. This broke our heart. The scared ones we tend to lean to so much because we want to provide them with a comfortable place where they can feel safe.
..
Mickey was the third one we picked after Daffy because we just couldn't split the brothers up. I realized when we got home and I was playing with Daffy that someone named them after Daffy the Duck and Mickey Mouse. I think Mickey definitely looks like Mickey Mouse in the face. Mickey is so loving. Mickey comes and licks you all over and just lays in your lap. It's the cutest thing.

Rose was the last one we picked in the cage with the others. We had already picked 3 kitties and I saw her all by herself and just could not leave her there all by herself. I named her after my sister who I love dearly. Rose is a very sweet and dainty kitten but if her brothers or sisters mess with her she can definitely take care of herself. She cries for you to pick her up. She is such a sweetie.

And then there was Marble who caught our eye three different times. One as we first walked in because of her sweet little face with a cold in her eye. Then again as we had picked up Jade and was trying to decide what to do. And as we were leaving we passed her cage and we just could not leave her there as sick as she was. She is such a sweet heart. We asked how much time she had left at first thinking maybe we would have time to post her with the others and find her a home. She told us she had until Tuesday of the next week. It was Thursday I believe. We knew we had to take her then. It was all we could do to leave with only the 5 we had. We wanted them all. This picture is of Marble on her way home.
Our second rescue was saving Kali and her 3 kittens at Clayton County Animal Control in Georgia. These cats caught a friend of ours eye, and she couldn't sleep until she knew they were safe. She worked hard to find a way to save them. When she asked us we found out that she only had a short time left. The day we arrived to save her and her kittens was the day they were going to gas her and leave her 2 week old kittens to be adopted. That was heart breaking to even think about. We planned the trip immediately and wished we could have saved more that day as well. They are growing nicely. The kittens are weened from their mom now and will be ready for adoption as soon as they are fully vetted and well from their colds.

This first picture is of them on their way home from the shelter.
Kali watching her kittens play
Onyx just waking up yawning
Oreo Picasso playing in her condo
Cupcake likes to sit in your lap
Our next trip was very special, because when we saw the picture of the one we were to pick up the terror in her eyes drew her to us. She was teeny tiny. Her mother, sister, brother, and her had all gotten sick. Here brother and sister didn't make it I believe because they were so young and small. Her mother was small too I heard. The fist trip to pick her up didn't work, because we got lost and ended up on the other side of Georgia. We were late and couldn't make it to where we were going in time. This was heart breaking, because we felt we may have lost our chance at saving her. Her name is Teacup, because she is as small as one.
This photo of her in the shelter terrified was the one that grabbed us by the heart
This is Teacup with her buddy Heaven who she is comforting because they are all sick right now with URI. Most of the kittens we have rescued have URI when we bring them home. It spread throughout the entire house and we are trying to treat them all for it right now.
Heaven is a doll. She only weighs one pound. She has the softest fur. And she has the cutest meow. When she cries it sounds likea very light bark. It is the cutest thing. Although when she became sick she now will open her mouth as to meow and we don't hear anything. She stares right at you and into your soul as if she were human herself. She is adorable.
This picture is of Marble comforting Heaven. Marble is like a mom to them all.
This is Tiger Lily. We believe her and Heaven may be siblings. They were together when we got them. She is very playful and loves to play her her new friend Raven who we picked up on our last trip.
The next kitty we rescued touched us in a very special way. She reached out and touched Dee's hand ever so gently while we were standing next to the cages. She then walked to the back of her cage and laid down. She couldn't stop looking at the loneliness in her eyes. She didn't meow or try to get out. She just sat there quietly staring as if she was older than her age. Dee knew she couldn't leave without her. She is the one we feel was severely abused. When we had put her in the car and started driving we noticed she had a lump on her head with a thick scab, a scab on her face, whiskers all cut up, and two knots on her side. She was so terrified of the other cats so much that we had to separate them completely because she felt she had to defend herself. When we did she went right to sleep and slept the entire way home. Her poor little belly was so enlarged we couldn't tell if she was malnourished or if it was worms. The vet didn't say it was from the worms, so we felt that she must have had it so rough before she arrived at the shelter. She was so thin and her belly was three times normal size and so swollen and tight looking. She is still so afraid of the other kitties, and if they come too close she will hiss, growl, and swat to keep them at a distance. But the fear in her eyes and body language is so sad to see and hurts our hearts so much because of not knowing what she went through before she arrived at the shelter. But she does allow us to hold her now and will purr. And what we found to be the sweetest thing now is that while one of us is at the computer she will now grab our legs with her claw to try and climb up to be near one of us.
The next trip came when a very close friend of ours made us aware of a kitten with an injured paw that was going to be gassed Monday. It was Saturday evening when we received the news. We rushed trying to make plans to get her. And then when we received a phone call from someone who was going to help us rescue more cats we found out about more that were to be gassed that same day. One was just a baby. When we pulled up her picture on their site we knew we were going to bring her home as well without a doubt because she was too young to be in there. And then once in there, again we saw this little orange tabby with the sweetest face just sitting there looking at us through his cage. He was alone and looked so sad. He had a horrible cold. He sneezed the entire time we were in the room with them, while we were holding him, and on the way home. The poor baby could not stop sneezing for more than a minute at a time. I have never seen nor heard of a kitten with a cold as bad as his. The pictures above are of Jasmine ( the one with the injured paw ), Raven ( the 4 week old kitten ), and then Punkin ( the orange tabby right after we picked him up from the shelter.) And the next one is of him after medicine and rest. He is doing much better, but just as all of the others, is still fighting this cold every day. He may have asthma we were told from our vet. He has had URI since we picked him up. All the cats in the shelter had it. One was so bad he didn't look like he was going to make it through the night. That one I wished we could have brought with us as well. We pray everyday for these sweet, innocent souls. They are God's creation ad deserve the best of love and care. Thank you all for your prayers and donations. They are greatly appreciated.
One of our newest upcoming rescues is DJ from Spalding. He is being fostered right now by a very nice lady who has been fostering for some time now. We can't wait to meet him. We keep hearing about what a sweet, sweet boy he is. I wanted to thank you all for posting bulletins for him. And we wanted to thank Winging Cat Rescue for all they do to save all of these cats. We saw DJ and he reminded us of one of the cats we saved once from abuse.
We were able to save Teacup's mom thanks to all of our wonderful myspace friends. We can't thank everyone enough. God bless you all.
This first picture is of Teacup's mom at her foster family's. The next few are of her on her way here and then her adjusting to her new home. She and Teacup are both nervous little sweeties. They look so much alike. Teacup's mother was so nervous being in the shelter that she bit all of her hair off of her back. I posted one picture of it, but I'm not too sure that it showed up that well. It's so sad what they have to go through in life.
This next picture was of Autumn first getting into the car. She almost looked like she was smiling :)
This next picture just amazes me at how much her and Teacup look alike. A close friend of ours edited their two pictures showing the resemblance beneath this next picture of her.
This last picture is of her when she first arrived here. It shows where she had chewed most of her hair off. It saddens us so much to see them in so much distress. She had been at the shelter for so long that it seemed she began self harming. It hurts my heart to know she was so alone for so long. But this shelter is the best we have ever worked with. They do everything they can to make sure these sweeties stay alive as long as they can
The next sweetie was found in a dentist's parking lot in the cold. The person who caught her and brought her into our vet's office could not catch her siblings or the mother. We are all still looking for them and hope they are all safe and warm until someone is able to find them and bring them to safety. Her name is Precious and was between 8 to 10 weeks when they found her. That was two days after Christmas
The next sweetheart looked so lost and alone is his cage. He was returned to the shelter when his new owner realized he had allergies. He had been at the shelter for 4 months before we had gotten him. His name was Figaro, but we call him Buddy because until Precious adjusted to all her new foster friends, because she was feral and was having such a hard time, she took to Figaro like none of the others and they became best buddies instantly :)
