My Interests

Myself: the way I look, how much exercise I do, what I eat, what to do with my hair, the ageing of my skin, my mental health, my general health... get the gist? Also classical ballet, the theatre, blue eyes, the English language, Sweden, music, popular culture... anything that is new to me engages my attention intensely for a short time.I am borderline, you see... I'd like to meet:

A Guille Milkyway ya lo conocí así que quedan: Stuart Murdoch (even though he is a Christian) & Stevie Jackson, someone in Madrid who can teach me Swedish... and Medea, Holly Golightly, Dean Moriarty and Yossarian.

Music:

BELLE & SEBASTIAN, Camera Obscura, Ladytron, KRAFTWERK, Al Stewart, The United States of America, White Noise, Donovan, Prokofiev, Manuel de Falla, The Beta Band, The Velvet Underground, THESE NEW PURITANS, Joy Division, The Go! Team, Theoretical Girl, The Moldy Peaches, Lily Allen, The Darling Buds, Heavenly, The Flatmates, The Long Blondes, Neil's Children, The Horrors, Suede, The West Coast Pop Art Experimental Band, Zen, Buffalo Springfield, Os Mutantes, The Beatles, The Who, early Pink Floyd, McNamara, LA CASA AZUL, Yeyé, 60s pop, Joe Meek etc MyGen Profile Generator

Movies:

The Turning Point, The Clockwork Orange, Freaks, anything by Almodovar, Amelie, A Very Long Engagement, Cabaret, The Wicker Man, Woody Allen stuff, Marisol films (Spanish child prodigy of the 60s), Nightmare Before Christmas, the new Charlie and the Chocolate Factory... in fact, Tim Burton in general; Me, You and Everyone We Know, 2001 Space Odyssey, The Graduate, Bedazzled, Monty Python, Dead Poet's Society (I know, I know... but I always cry at the end), period dramas, 80s films with Michael J.Fox in them... Disney classics like Beauty and the Beast, The Sound of Music, Mary Poppins... to be quite honest, I don't know an awful lot about cinema but I'm hoping to one day rise over the poverty line, get myself a dvd player and start filling the cultural voids.

Television:

I love EVERYTHING about British tv... Little Britain, Only Fools and Horses, The Catherine Tate Show, The Office, Jonathan Ross, comedy series from the 70s, Jamie Oliver and Gordon Ramsay's stuff (shocking to anyone who knows me because the only time I ever go anywhere near the stove is to make coffee in the morning). And BBC Breakfast... especially the London Travel bit when they say there are no problems reported... best bit of science fiction on national tv. And American comedies, and British soaps... yes, even Hollyoaks. Also Family Guy, The Mighty Boosh, Sheep in the Big City, Absolutely Fabulous, Father Ted, Curb your Enthusiasm, Alan Partridge, etc, etc, etc. MyGen Profile Generator

Books:

Meet My Maker the Mad Molecule, The Picture of Dorian Gray, Catch 22, Brave New World, Breakfast at Tiffany's, On the Road, Entre Visillos, Alice in Wonderland, The Outsider, Lolita, Mafalda comics, Philip K. Dick, Gabriel Garcia Marquez, Kafka, Dickens... quite predictable, I suppose. MyGen Profile Generator

Heroes:

Andy Warhol, Plato, Darwin, Sir Kenneth McMillan, Professor Max Velmans, Delia Derbyshire, David Bowie

Si hoy yo me hubiera despertado a tu lado

Feeling British

When I was back in London, any problems I had to deal with could be tackled safe in the certainty that, whatever happened, I had a place to escape to... I could always move back in with my parents, re...

Hymn to the things that we did do

I was clearing my room yesterday, throwing away bits and bobs that had accumulated since last summer, and I realised that all my efforts and life force over the last year have gone towards one only ca...

A new beginning

I was walking around leaning on a crutch, or rather limping. I was so reliant on it that thought I could not walk without my crutch.  I could not remember a time before my crutch; it had become a...

Another day...

It is that feeling in the morning like it is the end of the race and all you need is that last effort, that last surge of energy to pull you through to the finishing line. You work yourself up to do t...

"The pointlessness of a university education" rant

I need a lot of money very soon or I'm in big trouble... I've forgotten who I am, what I think, what I used to do and where I was heading to because this is currently the only issue on my mind. Why am...
