About Me

Steve Everitt, Bass guitarist, is originally from Port Huron, Michigan. Steve was born into a musical family. His Grandfather, a Brigadier General in the Salvation Army, was the territorial music director for the eleven central United States. Steve started playing trumpet in the Salvation Army Band at the age of 10 . He continued to play trumpet thru high school and college until at the age of 20 he began playing bass guitar. In 1970 he started playing in various bands around the Detroit area, In 1972 while on tour in Florida, he first met the "Chambers Brothers", known for their million selling hit "Time Has Come Today". He went on to become a session player for them and many other acts across the country.In 1986 Steve relocated to Daytona Beach where he again reunited with Lester Chambers and continued as his music director thru the early 90's. Since moving to Florida, Steve has appeared with many area musicians at such events as Bike Week, Biketoberfest, and Speed Weeks . One of the highlights of his career was opening for President Clinton on his re-election campaign stop in Daytona 1996.Steve has shared the stage with many known acts including, Edgar Winter, Arlo Guthrie, Nazareth, The Silver Bullet Band, Chubby Checker, The Ramones and many more at such famous venues as "The Village Gate" in Greenwich Village, NY., "Tobacco Road" in Miami and "Harrah's Casino" in Atlantic City NJ. Steve has performed many times with the band "Big Engine" appearing at such places as the Full Throttle Saloon in Sturgis S.D. and Gilleys Pub 44 during Biketoberfest. Steve is currently the bassist for "eleven29".
