When I was attended Lisbon University, I earned a degree in philosophy and history, followed by a three-month program in psychological testing at Columbia University in New-York. Back in Lisbon, I worked for a government institution for juvenile delinquents as a psychologist. I was always interested in art so I decided to drop psychology and become involved with art. I started studying at the Museu Nacional di Arte Antigua in Lisbon. In the beginning of the sixty's I married Pierre in Houston...
Pierre was already a major art collector. His colletion included many Picassos, Braques, Légers, and Matisses , as well as paintings by Monet, Degas, Bonnard, and Seurat. I expanded the collection to include more contemporary works by Rothko, Rauschenberg, Lichtenstein. I had Dali and Warhol do my portrait. Andy gave a dinner party for me at the Factory, that was a major honor because Andy never gave dinners at the Factory. I participated intensely in the international artistic and charity scene, as founding member of "Beaubourg" the Pompidou Center, member of M.O.M.A, Friends of Versailles, we paticipated in some of the restaurations like that of the bedroom of the king Louis XIV.I also helped the contemporary theater director Bob Wilson and later the fashion designer John Galliano...
